WHAT THE LABELS DON’T TELL YOU—

Most extensions are treated as textiles, not cosmetics—hair gathered through opaque, mixed streams, processed with industrial chemicals, then finished with silicone gloss to mimic health. They photograph well—then tangle, shed, and fade within weeks.

At Prolonged Hair, we do the opposite: transparent provenance, cosmetic-grade inputs, cuticle-intact Remy, and results that are measured, published, and repeatable.

WHAT THE EVIDENCE SHOWS

Independent studies and field investigations have traced commercial hair supply chains to waste-stream recovery (“sewer hair”), mortuary sources, and instances of coercive cutting—including reports involving women and minors.1

At the processing stage, harsh industrial methods—bleaching and stripping, textile dyes, and silicone gloss coatings—may temporarily disguise damage, but often reveal themselves as tangling, shedding, and premature color drift in wear.
